Covid-19 Re-opening of places of worship

by | Jun 26, 2020

Following on from the Prime Minister’s announcement of further loosening of some of the lockdown restrictions from 4th July 2020, which includes the reopening of places of worship, we would like to update you on the situation regarding Crofton Park Baptist Church.

We are pleased and encouraged that the Prime Minister has given permission for places of worship to reopen. We are aware that some of you will be very enthusiastic to get back to gathered worship as soon as possible, and that some may be much more cautious about returning.

As a leadership, while we too are eager for gathered church to resume, we will not commit to reopening CPBC until we are confident that we have all the safety measures in place to make the building, and the experience of worship and fellowship, as safe as possible. This means that significant changes will need to be carefully considered and implemented before we feel we can safely start, and we are awaiting further guidance from the Baptist Union regarding this.

This means that while we do not anticipate being ready to open by Sunday 5th July, we will now be actively looking at when and how reopening will be feasible, and as soon as we have more definite information, we will let you know.

In the meantime, please do keep safe and well.

God’s blessings,

CPBC leadership team
